A former property officer on the Town Council, Teddy Juay has always had a close relationship with the real estate industry. In his youth, his father had been a part-time realtor, providing him with a first-hand glimpse into the life of a real estate agent. This planted an interest in him that has since grown into a full career.
Before he made the transition to the real estate industry, Teddy discovered a dislike for desk-bound jobs. He sought an industry where his passion for beautiful homes could be rewarded—outside an office. To date, he has had the rare opportunity to view the insides of amazing homes and architectural works of art and interact with homeowners from all walks of life.
One of the greatest satisfactions that Teddy derives from his job is seeing his clients growing their portfolio successfully. He enjoys tackling even the most complex real estate decisions and advising his clients on the best decisions for their properties.
Teddy caters to a wide variety of clients, from first-time homeowners to seasoned property investors. One of his most in-demand services is in helping HDB homeowners plan their upgrade to private properties in the safest and most cost-saving way.
Many Singaporeans often overestimate the budget required to afford private properties, resulting in missed opportunities. In one case, Teddy was engaged by a client who had missed out on many choice properties due to inaction. Through an in-depth financial assessment and risk analysis, they discovered that she was able to afford a newly launched 2-bedder very comfortably. Since then, she has been sitting on her paper gains and awaiting the right time to cash out.
In the short period of 3 years, Teddy has been promoted to the PropNex Group Division Director category, gaining the title of youngest team leader to date. As one of the top performers in the agency, he is one of the most reliable realtors in the industry, transacting over 100 properties during this period.
In one memorable case, Teddy was engaged by a family of six living in a 3-room HDB flat. His client was a stroke patient while his wife and eldest son were breadwinners. Thankfully, he was able to successfully obtain approval for the sale of their flat pre-MOP and help them upgrade to a much more comfortable 5-room HDB.
On top of his personal achievements, Teddy also leads a team of nearly 30 young and dynamic multi-award winning agents. Under the brand Homeseekers, team members work together to serve their clients, support each other and improve their knowledge and skills.
Digitally, they are a constant and loud presence on social media to attract the maximum number of property buyers and sellers. This has given their property marketing the digital edge, ensuring that they are able to access a large and ready audience whenever they need to.
Outside of work, the group is a close-knitted second family to its members, having regular bonding and cohesion sessions, mahjong nights and annual gatherings.
As the team leader, Teddy seeks to help new RES improve their businesses through his systematic coaching, skills-sharing workshops and other on-and-offline training sessions. To ensure that every new member receives sufficient training, he also makes sure to take the time to mentor them one-on-one regularly.
He teaches newcomers how to kick start their real estate career, providing them with an action plan to ensure that the whole team is on track to meet their personal sales targets. Under his leadership, a team member was able to achieve $800,000 in sales within his first year!
In his own sales, Teddy has won the Gold and Platinum Awards. However, his achievements as a leader are even more outstanding, being recognised by PropNex and promoted to the PropNex Group Division Director category in record time. He is currently the youngest team leader in PropNex for his category at the age of 26.
